Visit to America's capital, and other sites in American history. To be visited during September of 2014
For us Brits, America has a more significant impact on us that we do on it. Almost all of us have heard of the American Civil war, Declaration of independence, Bill of rights, George Washington, among many other of their things from that time.
I would struggle to find as many American's that know about similar events from British history.
As a result I have a desire to learn more about this period, the why's and where's. Despite not needing to know about it, and many Brit's viewing America as "Not having much history", simply for only existing as an independent nation for less time as us.
We will be arriving in the seat of power of the nation, and staying there for about two days, before heading onto Williamsburg in Virginia, where there will be a short stay for two nights before heading onto Shenandoah National Park, for one night.
The next night will be spent in Gettysburg, in Pennsylvania. However there will be a short stop in Harpers Ferry, in West Virginia, whilst also traveling through Maryland. The following evening's stop will be in Philadelphia. Before returning back to Washington ready for the flight home.
